The Senior IT Engineer is a key role in delivering information services and technology support to students, staff, fellows, and guests. Strong IT skills, the ability to communicate well and offer customer-focused helpdesk support to users at all levels are essential. An ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, is particularly important.
The role requires a strong technical breadth and depth of knowledge together with many years’ experiences to take a lead role in designing, implementing, and maintaining IT key infrastructure and systems across the College.
The Senior IT Engineer will also act as technical lead for the maintenance and upgrade of the College’s IT Infrastructure.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude to the provision of customer service and helpdesk support, together with solid technical capabilities for application support and administration of network and server back-office systems operations.
The role holder is expected to be system owner and administrator (requiring a depth of experience they are able to demonstrate, not just day-to-day admin) of infrastructure and systems including, but not limited to:
