Salary Range: £47,321 to £54,827, progressing to £58,155 once in post, for Assistant Professor; £56,467 to £69,404, progressing to £75,833 once in post, for Associate Professor

The Role
Northeastern University London invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Data Science. The appointee will be teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and provide service in line with the evolving needs and aspirations of the Centre and University. Appointments will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching and service excellence.
The appointee will help develop our UK undergraduate and postgraduate degree apprenticeship programmes including but not limited to the area of Data Science, and provide general service to the University. In the first instance, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of the university’s online BSc Data Science and MSc Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
We wish to appoint a specialist in Data Science. Preference may be given to candidates with experience of English apprenticeships and active interests in data science, software engineering, and machine learning.
Core duties will include the development and teaching of cutting-edge courses in Data Science both online and on campus, assessment and moderation, student support, peer review, etc. Indicative subject areas may include (but are not limited to) machine learning, data driven analytics, data synthesis, and data engineering.

About the Faculty
The recently formed Centre for Apprenticeships is the home of the University’s apprenticeship and work-related learning programmes and promotes excellence in work-based learning, online teaching, and partner-engaged instructional design. Apprenticeships represent a gold-standard of experiential education. They combine academically rigorous HE programmes with the real-world tasks and challenges that learners encounter daily in the workplace. The Centre champions this style of learning and represents the faculty and learners that form a rapidly growing part of NU London’s community.
