We are committed to providing opportunities for all and have been transforming lives in London and further afield for over 120 years. We are part of a diverse group comprising London South Bank University, University Academies and Colleges and an enterprise centre. We take pride in the value that our degree programmes add, the employability and success of our graduates and the impact of our world-leading applied research.
To build on our strengths and position us best for future success, we are currently undergoing an academic re-shaping exercise, which involves combining eight schools of study into three Colleges, each with three or four Schools within them. This will facilitate enhanced strategic leadership across related subject areas, promote synergies between teaching and research, and provide a strong platform for sustainable growth.
We are now seeking a Head of the School of Construction, Property and Surveying, one of four Schools within the College of Technology and Environment (CTE). The new Head will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education, research, and innovation. This role is central to CTE’s mission to build an interdisciplinary academic hub that equips tomorrow’s leaders with the skills needed to tackle global challenges. We seek candidates with strong academic credentials, proven leadership, and a commitment to innovation and inclusivity in higher education.
The successful candidate will lead a vibrant, multidisciplinary school with a commitment to delivering world-class education to over 1,500 students. Specialising in core areas such as Surveying, Construction, Real Estate, and Architectural Technology, leveraging our research, scholarship, and significant industry connectivity to inspire our students and drive innovation within the field.
The new Head will work with the School and wider University community to celebrate our strengths and achievements and help forge an ambitious path forward. They will drive the strategy and overall progress of the School, working with colleagues to develop and maintain excellence across both teaching/learning and research and playing a central role in relations with external partners. Reporting to the Executive Dean of the College of College of Technology and Environment, they will sit on the College Senior Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will be a champion and advocate for the positive contribution the School and University make as a civic university. Equally, they will share our values and have the ability to engender an inclusive and respectful culture.
At LSBU, you’ll get to contribute to a vibrant and dynamic culture, which is fuelled by purpose, built around people, and genuinely diverse. You’ll be trusted and recognised for your unique contribution.
You will be part of a great team, turning your passion into purpose.
The closing date for applications, which should be in the form of a CV and cover letter and sent to lsbu-cps@minervasearch.com is 21 October 2024.
Interviews will take place on 12 November 2024.
