The Course
Are you curious? Do you like telling stories? Creating content? Are you good at communicating? Do you love fashion? The questions we ask of our perspective students, and equally important of our lecturers.
This BA (Hons) Fashion Media and Promotion degree gets to the heart of the fashion industry. This purpose driven course focuses on developing students’ visionary mindset, build skills in research, analyse, creation, curation and learn to think outside the box.
Awarded by the University for the Creative Arts, this degree programme will enable you to assess global shifts in fashion media from a cultural, ethical, inclusivity and technological perspective.
The course provides students with all the skills required to build your multi layered portfolio career in fashion media and the creative industry. We are story tellers and communicators, we use visual, written, moving and sound tools and skills to express and create an impact.
Students are immersed into the world of styling, fashion film, journalism, fashion publishing, brand knowledge, branding, marketing and promotion. Industry experts will guide students through their fashion journey whilst at LCCA, to ensure that they are provided with up to date, career focused teaching, experience and support.
Field trips, guest speakers, workshops and work experience will ensure that students time on the Fashion Media and Promotion course at LCCA is action packed, multi-sensory, fully supportive and focused on understanding how they learn so that we can co-create their higher education pathway to a successful career in the fashion industry.
The Role
The subject lead role focuses on creating holistic approaches to teaching and learning within Fashion Media & Promotion (FMP) ensuring that the experiences delivered will progress and retain students. The candidate must have an impeccable track record in delivering student success as well as strong industry links that will enhance and enrich the nature of delivering.
As the Subject Lead, you will lead and manage on the design, development and delivery of the curriculum and all areas of learning, teaching and assessment. Staff will look to you for leadership and support, while you will be entrusted with efficient quality control, resource management and a collaborative working approach.
This is also an opportunity for the role-holder to work with and assist the Course Director in this crucial curriculum area within the College. The role holder will be expected to engage in research and or professional practice to increase their subject, practice and pedagogic awareness. The role holder will also be expected to teach students in fashion and to contribute to extra-curriculum activities, such as delivery of staff development programmes and other cross-College initiatives. The role-holder will focus on key subject specific disciplines within the fashion management and marketing degree and be responsible for the design, development and delivery of the modules linked to these disciplines.
The successful candidate will have a demonstratable teaching record of innovation and success in the classroom across all levels, programme design, creation of teaching materials and discipline expertise.
The role holder will be expected to engage in research and or professional practice/enterprise in subject-specific territories.
