Teacher - Health and Social Care (Variable Hours) (LUM12754/1163)

Harrogate College are recruiting for a Health and Social Care teacher to deliver a new project to adult students. The position is Variable Hours to reflect the 1 day a week teaching delivery and there is also the potential for additional cover in our 16-19 Health and Social Care department.

We are delivering the new Skills Bootcamps and working in collaboration with local employers have developed a 6 week course that prepares students to work in the Health and Social Care sector with an interview with an employer at the end of the course. We are looking at running a number of Bootcamps over the year. 

What You Will Do

• Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
• Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
• Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
• Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure successful outcomes
• Use and promote restorative practice approaches

About You

• Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (eg. Cert Ed, PGCE)
• Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
• Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector
• Experience of setting appropriate SMART targets to ensure progression of learners
• Knowledge of current teaching practices and experience of utilising a range of teaching practices to enhance the learning journey and learner progression
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum
