The Institute of Science and Environment is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Chemistry able to support teaching across all levels of undergraduate teaching.
You will join a successful, experienced and ambitious teaching team with a reputation for innovation in course design and delivery. The team currently delivers Bachelor of Science programmes in Applied Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Criminology and Forensic Investigation, and Zoology. The subject group also supports delivery of Foundation Science feeding into a number of programmes across the Institute.
You will be required to contribute to the academic team through delivery of core chemistry modules across Programmes and year groups. You will also be expected to actively engage with professional and pedagogical research and scholarship to support teaching activities and extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching and research.
The successful candidate will be an experienced scientist ideally with a PhD in either organic or inorganic chemistry, the ability to demonstrate lecturing experience in this area at HE level and a strong interest in developing teaching at undergraduate level.
As well as the requisite academic and technical skills, you will be required to evidence your ability to work as part of a team demonstrating skills in project and time management and a passion for teaching and learning.
