The School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Plymouth and The Pirbright Institute have a BBSRC/NC3Rs supported position is available to develop a complex model of the pig airways using recently established pig respiratory epithelial and macrophage cell lines.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated scientist who will be responsible for the characterization of this in vitro model system involving pathogenesis studies with relevant pig respiratory pathogens such as influenza and porcine reproductive and respiratory viruses as well as newly developed herpes viral vaccines. The project is a cooperation between the University of Plymouth and The Pirbright Institute.

You will be experienced in tissue culture work, preferably with macrophages, ELISA, gene expression and microbiology work preferably with viruses.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for a period of 13 months due to funding.
