This full-time, permanent post is available from 1 September 2025.
The role
You will deliver teaching and associated study support to undergraduate and M.A. students studying Creative Writing at Exeter. You will be solely responsible for the design and delivery of specialist modules focusing on teaching scriptwriting skills (film, TV, theatre).
You will also have responsibility for the design, development and production of teaching and learning material and delivery across a range of modules, including the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
Indicative modules to which you might contribute are: Write After Reading (level 1); Imagine This: Prompts for Creative Writing (level 1); Digital Cultures: Narrative, Creativity, Industry (level 1). In addition, you may be asked to contribute lectures or other teaching content to a level 2 module on Adaptation Studies. You will be asked to deliver a specialist third-year module Writing for the Screen.
You will work with colleagues in the area of Creative Writing and English Literary Studies to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accordance with the Faculty’s education strategy. You will also contribute directly to foundation teaching in one or more of the discipline areas in the Faculty and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Faculty.
