The University of Oxford is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the Medical Sciences Division IT Services (MSD IT Services) as its Director. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic direction, development, delivery, and management of IT services offered by MSD IT Services across the Medical Sciences Division in the context of wider University IT capabilities and policies. The Director will ensure the provision of an excellent and professional divisional IT service that meets the evolving needs of the Division and the University. The Director of MSD IT Services will be part of the Division’s Senior Leadership Team reflecting the importance of their role in leading and developing the MSD IT Services team, and their strategic position in the Division.

About you

We are seeking someone with strong analytical and reasoning skills. You will have significant experience in leading large or complex IT capabilities and delivering exceptional IT services using industry-accepted frameworks. You should possess excellent customer service, project management, and communication skills, with a proven ability to inspire change and manage resources across multiple projects.

You must be skilled in building and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders and have a strong background in staff development and team management. You should also have a keen interest in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of IT innovations.
