About the Role
We are recruiting a Research Technician to provide technical support for clinical trial studies investigating molecular mechanisms in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Work will be conducted at the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI), Centre for Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) under supervision of Prof Costantino Pitzalis.
About You
The candidate will have a BSc/MSc and experience of handling human biospecimens is essential. Basic skills in histology, immunohistochemical and molecular techniques are also essential. The candidate will be strongly supported to develop skill sets in the day-to-day run of the laboratory side of clinical trials. The candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills, attention to details, and is an enthusiastic team player.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
EMR is a thriving multi-disciplinary interface for collaborative approach between basic scientist, clinicians, bioinformaticians and clinical team. The Centre is focused on to better understand the disease pathogenesis of several autoimmune diseases including RA. EMR is part of the newly awarded Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), the Musculoskeletal theme will encompass bio-informatician analysis, organ on-a chip development, small molecules testing, precision medicine trials, and development of a single cell platform.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 24 months, with an expected start date of December 2024. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £32,321 – £36,536 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
