We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, committed and experienced professional to contribute to our highly successful and growing Undergraduate and Postgraduate Primary Initial Teacher Education programmes.
You will have a passion for and commitment to the development of future teachers for the primary sector and will use your teaching and leadership experience to guide and support trainees to become excellent primary practitioners. You will take a leading role in developing the curriculum for Initial Teacher Education at primary level.
Substantial experience as a teacher in the primary age phase is essential alongside a higher degree and a teaching qualification with QTS. The ability to take responsibility for co-ordinating and leading modules in the primary teacher education curriculum is essential alongside the ability to teach across a range of modules in the subject area. You will be willing to travel on a regular basis to support trainee teachers on placement in our partnership schools. The postholder will also be expected to contribute to recruitment activities within the Department.
The ability to liaise with colleagues in schools and across a range of institutions will be an essential requirement in order to enhance consistency, share good practice and support the continuing success of the provision.
