About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Nurse to join the NIHR funded Spinal Injury Study (SIS) within the NET Research team based primary based at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddingto.
The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to the following Spinal Injury Study:
This large NIHR funded trial is led by Professor Mark Wilson, the Co-Chief Investigator. The aim of the Spinal Injury Study is to establish if movement minimisation is not inferior (i.e. no worse) compared to triple immobilisation in patients with potential cervical spine injury following blunt trauma. This is an important study that could globally alter the management of potential cervical spine injury in the pre-hospital phase on a global perspective. This trial will run for 3 years to recruit 8,316 participants across 8 Ambulance Service networks.
What you would be doing:
The post holder will be working within a multi-disciplinary team of research nurses, clinicians, scientists and Research & Development staff. The post holder will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator and will manage processes associated with recruitment, retention and follow up of patients in the SIS study.
What we are looking for:
Applicants should possess effective organisational and communication skills and have the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. In addition, you will be required to travel to hospital and clinics around London.

There are 2 posts available. One is full time and the other is 50% FTE, fixed term until October 2025 with possibility of extension depending on funding based at St. Mary’s Campus.
