Description of Post

The Faculty of Engineering & Technology has a varied portfolio of industry and professional practice focused programmes.

The Department of Computing within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology seeks applications in the following areas, and appointments that arise may be filled on a Fixed Term / Pro-rata/ Part-time (HPAL) basis as required:

  • Supply Chain Operations

Delivery will normally be on campus and, as a condition of employment, successful candidates will be expected to be available to teach on campus.  The post may include elements of project-based and blended learning, with online learning by agreement.

The assistant lecturer will join an enthusiastic team engaging in collaborative learning on other shared modules across the range of disciplines.

Pedagogic staff development is encouraged, and cognate qualification progression is also supported.

Essential Qualifications

Minimum

  • An Honours Degree (2.2 or higher) in a relevant Level 8 degree [as specified in the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ)], or equivalent majoring in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Three years relevant post-qualification experience i.e., 3 years relevant experience having gained the qualifications above.

Desirable

  • A postgraduate qualification preferably at PhD level
  • Significant industry and/or research experience in any of the following areas: Supply Chain Operations
  • Third level teaching experience (online and face to face)
  • Research experience
  • Experience in programme development and implementation
  • Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to teach effectively
  • Good communication skills, organisational skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
