We are looking for a Strategy and Planning Officer to join our team at a busy, exciting and pivotal time for UCEM. You will play a key role in driving our strategic ambitions and fostering a culture of forward-thinking and data-driven decision-making, supporting the development and implementation of strategies, plans and objectives that align with our overall strategy. 

You will coordinate the annual planning process, working with wider UCEM teams to ensure that departmental plans and budgets are coordinated and aligned to UCEM’s objectives. You will collaborate with senior leaders and colleagues across UCEM to shape strategies that respond to the external environment and anticipate future challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity, and you will play an integral part in supporting UCEM to achieve its vision of becoming the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment Education. 

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include: 

  • Further embed, implement, and improve UCEM’s planning framework and annual planning process, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives
  • Develop and maintain project pipelines aligned with strategic priorities, supporting the project approval process
  • Prepare performance reports for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Support the continual development of UCEM’s risk management approach and embedding an effective risk culture throughout the organisation 

Our main requirements: 

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills; ability to coordinate planning process and work across multiple initiatives
  • Knowledge/understanding of strategic planning processes and project management frameworks/delivery
