The Medical School of NJU originated from the Medical School of National Central University founded in 1925 and reestablished in 1935. It is the first seven-year medical school of a comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education, China. It was selected into the Ministry of Education’s Excellence in Doctoral Training Program (Elite and Innovative Medical Talents Program) and is famous for its “clinical scientist and medical scientist” training system. 

NJU Medical School has first-level doctoral programs in clinical medicine and basic medicine, doctoral degree authorization points in clinical medicine, oral medicine, and biology and medicine, and postdoctoral mobile stations in clinical medicine and BMS. It has built a full-chain innovation ecosystem featuring the transformation from basic research to clinical practice. The discipline of clinical medicine ranks among the top 1% in the ESI global ranking. 

In recent years, relying on national and provincial science and technology infrastructures such as the National Resource Center for Mutant Mice and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, the Medical School has made breakthroughs in the fields of tumor immunotherapy, reproductive development regulation, and engineering medicine, etc. 

The Medical School has brought together a team of talents led by academicians, with national leading talents as the backbone and national young talents as the reserve. The school has integrated the clinical resources of affiliated hospitals such as Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital and General Hospital of Eastern Theater Command, and built a collaborative innovation network of “basic research, clinical practice, and medical industry”. As the source of medical innovation in the Yangtze River Delta, it is not only a scientific research hall for exploring the mysteries of life, but also a strategic fulcrum for solving major health problems of mankind.

• Taking full charge of the administrative management of the school, formulating the school’s development strategy plan, clarifying development goals and directions, promoting the overall improvement of teaching, scientific research and discipline construction, and enhancing the school’s academic influence and core competitiveness at home and abroad.
• Being fully responsible for works including the school’s teaching, scientific research, discipline construction and other aspects, promoting the process of the construction of a first-class school, first-class disciplines and pushing for the internationalization.
• Formulating and implementing the talent team building plan of the school, introducing and training a group of high-level subject leaders, teaching and research backbones and outstanding young teachers to build a teaching team with a reasonable structure and excellent quality.

• Demonstrate a passion for higher education, uphold high professional ethics, and strictly adhere to the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China.
• Achieve internationally recognized academic accomplishments in relevant disciplines, with a strong reputation and broad academic influence. Align with NJU’s vision and educational philosophy, and exhibit forward-looking and strategic thinking in disciplinary development and talent cultivation, with a pioneering and innovative spirit.
• Identifying with NJU’s spirit and philosophy, being familiar with the laws of higher education of medical training and talent cultivation, having forward-looking insight and a strategic planning, and being innovative and pioneering.
• Bring extensive management experience and outstanding leadership and coordination abilities, with a global vision and core expertise in academic planning and team building; preference will be given to those who have served in leadership roles such as deans, department heads, or directors at renowned institutions.
• Maintain good physical and mental health, and demonstrate the commitment required to work full-time during the appointment period, and willing to devote wholeheartedly to the work of the school.
