Applications are invited for a post-doctoral Research Associate to join the group of Dr Danielle J. Harper within the new Early Cancer Institute on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. This interdisciplinary group designs state-of-the-art optical imaging systems to aid surgical resection of cancerous tissues. Dr. Harper is dually appointed between the Early Cancer Institute and the Department of Physics, allowing the lab to span the full spectrum of Biophotonics hardware development through clinical application. We are seeking a motivated post-doctoral Research Associate to join the team.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in optical system design and will contribute to the lab's efforts to develop a suite of optical coherence tomography systems that are appropriate for intraoperative imaging. The role will involve maintaining active collaborations both within the University of Cambridge and externally through the efforts of the OASIS hub (www.oasishub.org.uk). As a post-doctoral Research Associate, the successful candidate will also be expected to lead on and contribute to manuscripts and present their work at national and international conferences. They will join a highly collaborative and friendly environment and will be offered opportunities for training in any areas necessary for career progression.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £34,132) moving to Research Associate (Grade 7) upon confirmation of your PhD award.
