Tenure-Track/Tenured Faculty Position in School of Information Management

About the School

The School of Information Management (SIM) is one of the departments and schools with the longest history in Nanjing University, accredited as a domestic A+ and double first-class discipline institute by the Ministry of Education, China. SIM currently has six sub-disciplines: information science, library science, archival science, publishing science, information resource management, and national security data management. SIM offers a comprehensive range of degree programs covering undergraduate, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral education. SIM is recognized as a leading academic institution in the area of information science, library science, and some other relevant fields.

Positions

SIM invites applications to fill tenure-track position in library science, information science, or archival science. The successful candidate is expected to teach and research in the following (but not limited to) areas:

  1. Informatics and intelligence study
  2. Data analytics and knowledge services
  3. Library science and digital humanities
  4. Archive management and e-government
  5. Editing, publishing, and digital culture industry
  6. National security data management

Qualifications

The applicant should

  1. Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  3. Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence. Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.

  2. A detailed CV (in either Chinese or English);
  3. Three representative papers (The representative works submitted for review are generally papers or monographs that have been officially published in journals or have been published online and have DOI numbers);
  4. Other relevant attachments that demonstrate academic achievement.

Compensation Package and Support

  1. An annual salary (to be worked out individually);
  2. A start-up fund for research;
  3. Qualification to supervise graduate students;
  4. The university provides short-term lodging and housing subsidies. Applicants recruited can purchase commercial housing offered by the university at a special discount;
  5. The university provides assistance with children's schooling at primary and secondary school levels.
