School of Arts

The School of Arts of Nanjing University is a co-construction unit of the "Chinese Language, Literature and Art" double first-class discipline of Nanjing University. It has a long history and fine tradition in art education and art research, and ranks among the top art schools in comprehensive universities. The school has a high-level faculty team, with 25 teachers with senior professional titles, including 1 professor of liberal arts materials at Nanjing University, 1 foreign academician of the European Academy of Sciences, 3 leading talents of national talent projects, 2 young talents, and 1 cultural celebrity and "four batches" project of the Central Propaganda Department, 1 leading talent in philosophy and social sciences of the Organization Department of the Central Committee, and 1 first-level talent of the "333" project of Jiangsu Province. The school has established partnerships with Brown University, the University of Texas at Dallas, the University of Florence, and the University of Turin in Italy, and has hosted and participated in many international cooperation projects, with great international influence.

Recruitment Position Setting

The School of Arts of Nanjing University plans to recruit candidates in the field of art. Recruitment research directions include:

  1. Art theory and aesthetics
  2. Art History and Art Criticism
  3. Drama and Film Studies
  4. Art Communication
  5. Fine Arts (Fine Arts and Calligraphy)
  6. Art Education

Application Requirements

  1. Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  3. Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
  4. Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.

  1. Letter of intent for the position (should include, but not be limited to, research direction, specific position, research overview, academic impact proof, and teaching experience);
  2. Three letters of recommendation (generally from doctoral supervisors, academic leaders of current work units, and well-known scholars in the field);
  3. Detailed resume (in Chinese and English, including a list of published academic achievements);
  4. Five representative works (generally papers or monographs that have been officially published or published online before the recruitment announcement deadline and have DOI numbers, full texts must be uploaded, please sort by importance);
  5. Other relevant attachments proving academic achievements.

Salary and related packages

  1. Public institution establishment (except for foreign personnel);
  2. Implement an annual salary system (details to be agreed upon separately);
  3. Scientific research start-up funds;
  4. Graduate student recruitment;
  5. The school provides short-term turnover housing and housing subsidies, and the candidates can purchase commercial housing provided by the school at a preferential price;
  6. Assist children to attend primary and secondary schools.
