About the role
You will support the Centre for Global Health Research (CGHR) situated within the Department of Global Health & Infection at Brighton & Sussex Medical School. Centre of Excellence status was awarded in 2023 by the University of Sussex in recognition of the international reputation of the CGHR, its success in winning external funding and the impact generated by its research. CGHR is a partnership of approximately 25 institutions in the UK and 16 ODA recipient countries.
These represent more than 200 researchers who focus on health conditions that are highly neglected by policy, funding, research and intervention. Under the guidance of the Centre Director and Deputy Director, you will facilitate communication across this exciting international partnership, develop cross-partnership funding applications and conduct qualitative research to understand equitable research relationships. You will be responsible for tracking impact and compiling internal reports.
About you
You will have a doctoral degree in a social science, public health or a related discipline. You will have experience of working as part of an international team within or beyond the academic setting, and as a consequence will understand the importance of intentionally prioritising equity in partnerships.
You are someone who is instinctively able to engage with individuals and organisations from a wide range of backgrounds, and can make people feel valued for what they bring to a collaboration. You are able to work alongside team members and manage your workload, providing updates to relevant team members as necessary.
