Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Clinical Research and Data Scientist within UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science.
Led by UCD Professor of Biochemistry Patricia Maguire, the AIPREMie research team is pioneering an AI-powered clinical decision support tool to address preeclampsia (PET), a life-threatening pregnancy complication affecting 1 in 12 pregnancies and resulting in the tragic loss of 76,000 mothers and 500,000 babies annually. PET’s complex and variable clinical presentations create significant challenges for timely diagnosis and effective management, often making early delivery the only viable solution to protect both mother and baby.
AIPREMie tackles these challenges through an innovative AI-driven approach. By integrating proprietary biomarker assay results with clinical data, the tool delivers personalized diagnostic insights and risk stratification, empowering clinicians to make informed decisions and improve patient outcomes. Currently in the research phase, AIPREMie is preparing to transition to a commercial spinout from UCD, aiming to revolutionize global preeclampsia care and transform maternal and fetal health worldwide.
