The College of Science and Engineering, University of Galway, seeks to appoint an Established Professor with demonstrated academic and research leadership in a target strategic research area aligned to University of Galway’s Institute for Health Discovery and Innovation.
Target strategic areas of research span both established areas of strength, as well as emerging strategic areas of research. Target areas of research, include, but are not limited to:
Cell and molecular biology, chromosome biology, cancer biology, biologics including protein and process chemistry, precision medicine, drug discovery, active implants, connected health, smart connected devices, health data science, digital health, biomaterials, regenerative medicine, biomechanics, biomedical engineering, biomaterials, bioelectronics, mechanobiology, medical devices and medical technologies, diagnostics, advanced therapeutic, infection and immunity, and neuroscience.
The College of Science and Engineering will appoint the successful applicant to an Established Professorship of a relevant theme / subject, aligned to a relevant school in the College.
The Established Professorship is a full-time permanent post and the appointee will serve as the Director of Institute for Health Discovery and Innovation for a period of 4 years (with the potential to serve a second term as Director for up to four additional years).

Salary:
€142,869 to €180,621 per annum (applicable to new entrants effective from January 2011).
