Introduction to the Institute
The Institute of Space Earth Sciences of Nanjing University is built on the basis of the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering. It has a full range of earth science-related disciplines, strong comprehensive strength, and significant international influence. It has been ranked among the top in all previous discipline evaluations of the Ministry of Education, and has two national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines. The discipline has a high-level teaching team of about 120 people, including 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and about 50 national high-level talents. It has established a number of scientific research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Mineralization Mechanism of Endogenous Metallic Deposits, the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Supergene Geochemistry, and the Ministry of Education Frontier Science Center for Key Earth Material Cycles, as well as a national earth science teaching demonstration center. It has established long-term talent training and scientific research cooperation with dozens of universities and research institutions at home and abroad, and has a strong international influence.
The Institute of Space Earth Sciences of Nanjing University is a new scientific research institution located in Suzhou Campus. It cooperates deeply with the International Research Center for Big Data on Sustainable Development, and is committed to the cross-integration research of earth science, space science and information science, and carries out theoretical and technical research on space earth observation, earth big data, and lunar-based earth observation, and builds a simulation platform for the earth environment and human sustainable development. The institute aims to become an internationally renowned innovation highland for space earth science, a high-level talent training center, an international cooperation demonstration platform, and an important force in serving national strategic needs, and become a leading institution for the research and development of space earth science in my country.
