School Introduction

The School of Intelligent Science and Technology of Nanjing University is one of the first colleges built by Nanjing University in Suzhou Campus. As artificial intelligence technology has become a new factor of productivity and is driving a new round of information technology revolution, the college, in accordance with Nanjing University's guidance on equal standards and staggered development of various campuses, relies on the National Key Laboratory of New Computer Software Technologies of Nanjing University to vigorously build and develop cutting-edge directions of intelligent science such as visual intelligence, general intelligence, brain-like intelligence, embodied intelligence, and scientific intelligence. At the same time, combined with the school-running characteristics of the new engineering disciplines of Nanjing University Suzhou Campus, it highlights the cross-disciplinary integration and carries out talent training and key technology research in key industries such as intelligent manufacturing, medical health, and national defense science and technology.

The college currently has a high-level faculty of nearly 40 people, including 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 1 national leading talent, 9 national young talents, and recruits and trains 150 undergraduates each year. The college has 2 master's and doctoral degree authorization points in computer science and technology and electronic information, 4 graduate enrollment directions, and currently has 39 doctoral supervisors. The college has established a visual computing and intelligent perception research center, and jointly built the Nanjing University-China Mobile Joint Research Institute and the Nanjing University National Institute of Health and Medical Big Data. 

Recruitment Position Setting

The School of Intelligent Science and Technology of Nanjing University plans to recruit Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Recruitment research directions include, but are not limited to:

  1. Visual Intelligence
  2. General Intelligence
  3. Brain-like intelligence
  4. Embodied Intelligence
  5. Scientific Intelligence 

Application Requirements

  1. Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  3. Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
    1. For tenure-track Assistant Professor roles, ideally, at least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
    2. For tenure-track Associate Professor roles, ideally, at least four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  4. Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.
