College Introduction
The college has 5 undergraduate majors, 2 first-level doctoral programs (materials science and engineering, optical engineering), 1 self-established interdisciplinary academic doctoral program (health engineering), 3 professional degree doctoral programs (materials and chemical engineering, electronic information, biology and medicine), 5 master's programs (academic master's: materials science and engineering, optical engineering, health engineering, professional master's: electronic information, materials and chemical engineering), and has established multiple scientific and educational platforms: Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Functional Materials Design Principles and Application Technology, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Intelligent Light Sensing and Regulation (Class B), Jiangsu Provincial Optical Communication Engineering Research Center, Laser and Photonic Engineering Technology Research Center, Microwave Photonic Technology Research Center, Energy Storage Materials and Technology Center, Environmental Materials and Renewable Energy Research Center, Nanjing University Accelerator Center, etc. In addition, the college is also a major participating unit of the State Key Laboratory of Solid Microstructure Physics and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Artificial Microstructure Science and Technology. The college has also established several new R&D institutions and achievement transformation platforms in Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai and other places.
In 2015, the college was selected as a pilot unit of the "International Demonstration College Promotion Plan for Colleges and Universities" supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and fully carried out internationalization of education; in 2017, Materials Science and Engineering was selected into the list of national first-class disciplines. The college has a high-level teaching team with a total size of 109 people, including 20 national leading talents and more than 50 national young talents. The college has established partnerships with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of California, Irvine, and ParisTech, France, and has hosted and participated in many international cooperation projects, with great international influence.
Recruitment Position Setting
The School of Modern Engineering and Applied Sciences of Nanjing University plans to recruit Assistand Professor. The research directions include:
1. Functional oxide films and devices
Focus on the novel physical properties of new functional oxide thin film materials and their potential device applications, develop atomic-scale precisely controllable oxide epitaxial thin film growth, exfoliation and precise transfer technology, prepare high-quality oxide artificial microstructures, study the regulation of their physical properties and associated quantum states by factors such as strain (gradient), dimension and interface, and reveal new laws for their physical state regulation, and devote ourselves to the research of low-power, high-density information storage and sensing device applications.
2. Advanced optoelectronic technologies based on micro-nano structures
In response to major national needs in the field of optoelectronic information, we explore new effects, new principles, and new processes for light field control and photon (photoelectronic) integration based on micro-nano optical structures, develop new integrated optoelectronic devices and technologies, and apply them to communications and computing, imaging and display, sensing and detection, and other fields.
3. Efficient energy storage materials and technologies
Aiming at the bottlenecks of energy storage technology in terms of energy density, life, safety, etc., we take the design and creation of key electrode catalysts and conversion materials as the starting point, and are committed to breakthroughs in new principles, new processes and new devices for new high-energy storage technologies. We research and develop new energy materials for high-energy power batteries, large-scale storage, hydrogen energy storage, etc., and develop related application technologies.
