Salary:
Grade 8 (£40,497 to £46,735);
Grade 9 (£48,149 to £55,755) + Market Supplement, per annum

The Opportunity
As a Lecturer in Computer Science or Software Engineering, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering a variety of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You'll also have the opportunity to develop research partnerships with colleagues at Hubei University and / or continue to carry out your own research working with colleagues at Manchester Metropolitan. Promoting the department, faculty and university by supporting a range of activities will be important too. You will be able to take part in knowledge transfer and business engagement opportunities, developing partnerships to share best practice or exploring the possibility of collaborations.
About you
To succeed, we are looking for a good first degree and PhD in a relevant discipline (or equivalent qualifications). You will ideally have two years' university teaching experience, preferably gained in a UK context, although you'll be supported to gain a teaching qualification if you do not have one. Membership of any relevant professional bodies is also desirable.
An in-depth understanding of the subject, including recent developments in Computer Science or Software Engineering approaches including software architectures and modern software development technologies is essential for this role.
Committed to ensuring teaching content is stimulating, inspiring, appropriately challenging and reflective of the current state of the discipline and / or professional subject bodies, you're also adept at using initiative, creativity and judgement when undertaking research and scholarly activities.
