College Introduction

The computer science discipline of Nanjing University is one of the earliest established computer science disciplines in my country, and the discipline as a whole is at the forefront of the country. Software engineering, machine learning and other directions have formed their own characteristics and advantages in the international competition, and have had an important impact at home and abroad. The first batch of computer doctoral programs, the first batch of national key disciplines, the first batch of national first-level key disciplines, and the first batch of double first-class construction disciplines have been established; the National Key Laboratory of New Technology in Computer Software has been rated as excellent three times in a row in the past fifteen years and ranked first in the domestic computer field.

Based on the international frontier and oriented to the major needs of the country, the institute has achieved new technological breakthroughs led by basic research in the fields of new programming and software methodology, machine learning and intelligent information processing, distributed computing and system security, media computing and content processing, theoretical computer science, etc., and has built a team of top talents led by strategic scientists, with the backbone working together to tackle key problems and the young people devoting themselves to overcoming difficulties, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, ACM/AAAI/IEEE Fellows, 9 national high-level talents and 18 national young high-level talents. 

Recruitment Position Setting

The School of Computer Science at Nanjing University plans to recruit Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Specific research directions include but are not limited to:

  1. Computer Software
  2. Computer application technology
  3. Computer Network and Security
  4. Artificial Intelligence
  5. Computer Architecture
  6. Theoretical Computer Science
  7. Related interdisciplinary fields 

Application Requirements

  1. Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  3. Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
    1. For tenure-track Assistant Professor roles, ideally, at least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
    2. For tenure-track Associate Professor roles, ideally, at least four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  4. Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.

  1. Three letters of recommendation (generally from doctoral supervisors, academic leaders of current work units, and well-known scholars in the field);
  2. Detailed resume (in Chinese and English);
  3. Three representative works (generally papers or monographs that have been officially published or published online before the recruitment announcement deadline and have DOI numbers, and the full text must be uploaded);
  4. Other relevant attachments proving academic achievements.

Salary and related packages

  1. Public institution establishment (except for foreign personnel);
  2. Implement an annual salary system (details to be agreed upon separately);
  3. Scientific research start-up funds;
  4. Graduate student recruitment;
  5. The school provides short-term turnover housing and housing subsidies, and the candidates can purchase commercial housing provided by the school at a preferential price;
  6. Assist children to attend primary and secondary schools.
