College Introduction

Nanjing University Global Intellectual Property Institute is one of the first new research institutes built by Nanjing University in its high-starting point and high-quality Suzhou campus. It is also an important part of the "one body and two wings" strategy of Nanjing University Law School. It aims to be based in Suzhou, one of the centers of Chinese modernization and real economy. In accordance with global standards, relying on cutting-edge experience, targeting cutting-edge science and technology fields, it will bring together global leaders to create a Chinese intellectual property cross-border and cross-industry-university integration center that deeply presents "China-oriented and global experience", and to shape global elites and executive leaders with deep connections between science, industry and law in the era of new technological revolution. 

Recruitment Position Setting

The Nanjing University Global Intellectual Property Institute plans to recruit Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The research directions of the proposed positions are mainly as follows:

  1. Intellectual property law, especially patent law
  2. Intellectual property in emerging fields, such as big data, artificial intelligence, digital economy, biomedicine, international relations, global governance and other fields
  3. Intellectual property strategic management
  4. Technology law, digital governance and other fields that intersect with intellectual property law 

Application Requirements

  1. Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  2. High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  3. Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
    1. For tenure-track Assistant Professor roles, ideally, at least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
    2. For tenure-track Associate Professor roles, ideally, at least four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  4. Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.

  1. Three letters of recommendation (generally from doctoral supervisors, academic leaders of current work units, and well-known scholars in the field);
  2. Detailed resume (in Chinese and English);
  3. Three representative works (generally papers or monographs that have been formally published or published online and have DOI numbers, and the full texts must be uploaded);
  4. Other relevant attachments proving academic achievements.
