About the role:
We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to support our research programme developing cutting-edge transcranial ultrasound technology for brain imaging and interfacing. Funded by EPSRC and ARIA, this project aims to advance high-resolution imaging, record deep brain activity, and explore brain stimulation techniques. You will oversee laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and technical excellence, while contributing your expertise to the development of this emerging technology.
What you would be doing:
As Laboratory Manager, you will play a key role in both the day-to-day management of the research laboratories and the technical development of the project. You will lead laboratory operations, manage resources, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Your role will involve hands-on contributions to the design, construction, and testing of specialist ultrasound and electronic equipment, as well as providing guidance and training to researchers and students. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and external partners.
What we are looking for:
We seek a technically skilled and highly organized individual with a degree or equivalent technical experience, in a relevant engineering, scientific, technical or laboratory discipline. You should have significant experience in a research or technical role, particularly in areas such as ultrasound imaging, electronics, instrumentation, or mechanical design. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. Experience in laboratory management and knowledge of health and safety regulations would be advantageous.
