Job Description

Join our award-winning Careers & Employability Team as a Placements & Work-based Learning Coordinator where you will support current students explore the possibilities of placements & work-based learning. Be a part of a growing service where you will get involved in a wide variety of projects and initiatives, such as the Professional Placement Year, curricular and extra-curricular schemes, workshop delivery and one-to-one support. You will be actively involved in supporting the expansion of our placement offer, recognising the importance of work experience for student skills development and successful graduate outcomes.

About the Role

As Placements & Work-based Learning Coordinator, you will play a key role in the team to develop, and increase awareness, of placements and our support offer to make meaningful experiences accessible to all students.

You will work closely with students to develop their skills and confidence through the provision of information advice & guidance, and the creation of fit for purpose resources. You will also carry out data-driven analysis, project evaluations, stakeholder engagement and work collaboratively across the university and with external partners.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines planning, problem solving and relationship management to deliver student success. If you have a passion to see students develop and thrive, we would love to hear from you!

About You

Essential

  • Experience of communicating information to different audiences using a variety of methods including the design and delivery of information and online learning
  • Project management skills with experience of managing a range of projects and covering a wide range of activities/service
  • Strong IT skills, including experience of CRM/database systems and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly develop and maintain effective working relationships with people at all levels and build networks

Desirable

  • Previous experience of working within the Higher or Further Education sector
  • Knowledge of placements requirements and their implementation
  • Knowledge of challenges faced by students undertaking work placements

Special conditions

  • Willingness to work flexibly to attend student visits, activities and events outside of usual working hours.
  • Willingness to work at any of the university campuses, taking into account accessibility and diverse commuting needs
