About the role

The Clinical Research Fellow appointed will be a qualified medical Doctor with experience in clinical research and working with those with addiction. The successful candidate will work with the team that is delivering a neuroimaging study (An fMRI study to assess the effects of INDV-2000 on brain activity in opioid-dependent participants taking methadone) supported and sponsored by Indivior. The study is based on an fMRI platform developed by Prof Lingford-Hughes and Dr Paterson to assess neural processes involved in relapse in addiction.

What you would be doing

The Clinical Research Fellow will lead on recruitment of people receiving methadone for opioid addiction from a collaborating addiction service in Greater London. Some travel to sites will be needed. Alongside the team in Imperial College Clinical Research Facility at Hammersmith Hospital, you will screen participants for eligibility and provide medical cover for the study days involving fMRI imaging at Invicro imaging facility. You will be collecting data and maintain study documentation consistent with regulatory and governance requirements. You will provide some out-of-hours medical support to participants as required post study days.

What we are looking for

  • You will be a Doctor registered with the GMC to work in the UK and have completed at least 2 years clinical work in a relevant field(s).
  • You will have experience of working with and knowledge of opiate dependence and addiction treatment.
  • You will have some knowledge and/or experience of research, fMRI, recruiting participants, collecting data and maintaining study documentation.
  • You will be used to working in a team and have flexibility in work times as study days run 8.30am - 6.30pm

This is a Full Time Fixed term role based at our Hammersmith Campus.

Working 0.8FTE would be considered.

A DBS check will be required. Study training as required will be provided.
