The Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics is seeking a fixed-term Departmental Lecturer to assume teaching and examining responsibilities for one year in the area of Semantics and Pragmatics. The area of specialty within Semantics and Pragmatics is open.
The postholder will also assume college responsibilities at Jesus College and Brasenose College for autumn and winter terms. The duties of the role include giving lectures and classes, in addition to tutorials in semantics/pragmatics and other areas of linguistics; supervising Master’s students; participating in university examining; carrying out research to underpin teaching; and cooperating in the administrative work of the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics.
The post is tenable for 1 year from 1 October 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter and is non-renewable.
