Christ Church invite applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in English 1760 - Present
This is a temporary part-time, fixed-term position to fulfil a current teaching need arising from Professor William Ghosh’s partial buyout during the Academic Year 2025/26. Therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.
The successful candidate will deliver four hours of tutorial teaching per week, averaged over the three eight-week terms of the academic year and must be able to teach the following papers for the Preliminary Examination in English Language and Literature and the Final Honour School of English Language and Literature:
In each case, it is expected that you will share the teaching of these papers with Professor Nickerson. In a typical term, Professor Nickerson will teach four of the eight tutorial weeks on the poetry of the period, and you will be responsible for the remaining four weeks, focussing on prose and drama.
This post is offered on a one-year fixed-term temporary basis with a salary of £11,046 - £12,205 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience.
