Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Finance/Financial Analytics

Queen's University Belfast - Finance

Queen's Business School (QBS) at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) is currently seeking to appoint one or more exceptional candidates to the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Finance/Financial Analytics. Successful candidates will be based in India at QUB’s GIFT City Campus and will have the opportunity to shape and strengthen the future direction of QBS from both a research and teaching perspective. Our supportive research environment enables attendance at international conferences, facilitates the pursuit of high-quality publications and fosters meaningful engagement with non-academic stakeholders. The appointed candidates will get the opportunity to interact and work with colleagues whose research is internationally renowned for excellence and societal impact.

About the person:

Essential Criteria:

  • A completed PhD (or very close to completion for Lecturer) in Finance/Financial Analytics or cognate disciplines.
  • An established programme of research activity and dissemination of original, high-quality research in Finance/Financial Analytics in line with accepted norms for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.
  • A sustained track record of high-quality peer reviewed Finance/Financial Analytics publications as appropriate to norms for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.
  • Ability to develop and lead a major programme of individual or collaborative research in Finance/Financial Analytics research.
  • Ability to contribute to successful, sustained postgraduate student supervision as primary supervisor, normally at PhD level.

For Lecturer

  • Evidence of the ability and willingness to teach modules at university level in one or more of the following areas: Corporate Finance, Asset Pricing, Financial Data Analytics, Trading, Banking, Financial Modelling, Derivatives, International Finance, FinTech.
  • Ability and willingness to deliver excellent classroom and online teaching.
  • A willingness to provide support and guidance to students, including pastoral support.

For Senior Lecturer:

  • Evidence of significant experience of teaching and assessing modules at university level in one or more of the following areas: Corporate Finance, Asset Pricing, Financial Data Analytics, Trading, Banking, Financial Modelling, Derivatives, International Finance.
  • Demonstrable excellence in classroom teaching and online delivery of teaching.
  • A record of providing support and guidance to students, including pastoral support.
  • Evidence of administrative and academic leadership activities as appropriate to norms for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the strategic and operational management of Queen’s Business School.
