SALARY & HOURS: £44,544, 5 days a week Monday to Friday

FIXED TERM CONTRACT: Until 31st December 2025 with a possibility of an extension

The key responsibilities include:

  • To support the Faculty Dean in the day-to-day management of financial processes, including authorising expenditure.
  • To support the Dean with the management of human resources generally, liaising with the University’s HR Team and taking direct responsibility for the line management of all administrative and operational staff within the faculty.
  • To support the Faculty Dean with the management of all PSRB requirements and, liaising with the University’s Legal Services Team, the negotiation and fulfilment of contracts with both academic and non-academic partners.
  • To develop, oversee and review administrative and operational processes across the faculty to ensure they properly underpin its academic mission while remaining consistent with the University’s regulatory obligations and internal frameworks.
  • To ensure all necessary resources for the delivery of the curriculum, both online and on campus, are available and fit-for-purpose (including oversight of the VLE) and to liaise with academic staff as necessary to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the curriculum.
  • To liaise with staff in the University’s Academic Compliance Team to ensure all academic quality and standards-related requirements, both external and internal, are met.
  • To liaise with staff in the University’s Student Administration Team to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of examinations and assessments and to deliver reliable processing and reporting of all assessment data to Boards of Examiners, the University’s Exam Senate, PSRBs (where applicable) and students.
  • To liaise with staff in the University’s Student Services Teams to ensure a positive student experience for all and ensuring students are correctly signposted to university services.
  • To liaise with staff in the University’s Marketing and central Admissions Teams, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of admissions processes.
  • To liaise with staff in the University’s Student Administration Team to ensure accurate
  • To liaise with the University’s Health & Safety Advisor to ensure that arrangements are in place and a safe place of work is provided for all staff, students and visitors.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills with the ability to influence others' thinking at a senior level.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability within a specialism or across a broad management function.
  • Advanced understanding of University structures and systems, and wider sector/external awareness.
  • Ability to contribute to service and policy development.
  • Knowledge of managing and controlling budgets/resources.
  • Knowledge and skills equivalent to a formal/specialist qualification and approximately 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Proactively engage in continuing professional development/training to keep knowledge and skills up-to-date.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the University's Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies/procedures.
