Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Lecturer in Composition & Arranging to join the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology at the University of Salford. Based in our vibrant Performance, Music, English & Dance Directorate, you will teach and coordinate modules in traditional and hybrid composition and arranging, with scope to contribute to popular music performance and programme leadership. Key Responsibilities
The Lecturer in Composition & Arranging will design and deliver engaging teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervise student projects, and contribute to curriculum development. You will lead in areas of subject expertise, supporting colleagues and coordinating teaching where required. The role involves pursuing individual or collaborative research, producing high-quality outputs, and seeking external funding. You will also engage with industry and community partners, contribute to student recruitment and retention, and support student success through personal tutoring. Active participation in departmental leadership, academic citizenship, and wider university initiatives is expected, helping to shape a dynamic, inclusive, and professionally focused learning environment.
