About the Role
Are you ready to be part of an exciting new research initiative? Bone and Joint Health is looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to play a key role in supporting our diverse team of clinical academics as we drive forward pioneering research.
As Senior Translation Science Technician, you will oversee the Centre’s operations, managing research budgets, procurement, and laboratory resources to ensure our world-class research runs smoothly. You will play a vital role in optimising laboratory efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading on health and safety, including lab inductions. Additionally, you will provide IT and technical support, including managing LabArchives, and contribute to training staff and students in best laboratory practices.
About You
You bring significant experience in laboratory management and/or as a postdoctoral scientist in a relevant field. You thrive in a fast-paced research environment, working collaboratively with clinical academics and research teams. Your expertise includes managing budgets, procurement, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
As a proactive problem-solver with excellent organisational and communication skills, you’re passionate about research and committed to supporting its success.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centers and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
