Background
This role is part of the International Student Advice & Compliance Team and has responsibility for managing the institution-wide corporate compliance responsibilities to the Home Office for Student visas. With over 5000 international students, the University is required to have in place a robust framework for managing all aspects of the Home Office requirements.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work to ensure that the University is fully compliant with UKVI sponsorship duties in regards to international students. This includes being first point of contact for admissions staff preparing Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and to ensure that all CASs are assigned correctly and within agreed deadlines. This is a varied role and also involves international students registration, attendance and engagement monitoring, responding to student enquires and supporting other areas of the University to protect our UKVI sponsorship status.
Person Specification
We are looking for a diligent and efficient individual to join a small dynamic team. A high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail is essential as well as knowledge of UKVI Point Based System rules and regulations on Student Visas. You will be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and to have an ability to explain processes and legislation to others.
A demonstrable understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion and professional conduct and their practical application within a student support environment is essential along with an awareness of boundaries of confidentiality and professionalism appropriate to student support in a Higher Education setting.
