About the Role
Are you passionate about building communities, creating lasting relationships, and unlocking opportunities through engagement and philanthropy? Aston University is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Community, Alumni Relations and Development (CARD) function during a time of ambition and growth.
As Director of CARD, you’ll play a central role in delivering Aston’s 2030 Strategy—a bold vision placing community at the heart of our mission. This is more than an advancement role; it’s a chance to reshape how a university collaborates with alumni, partners, and supporters to create shared value for society.
You’ll lead a dedicated team and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Working closely with senior leaders including the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Commercial Officer, you will shape and deliver a strategic approach to alumni engagement, civic partnerships, and philanthropic fundraising. You will also represent Aston externally, engaging with key stakeholders across the city, region, and beyond.
We are looking for a strategic leader who can inspire teams and external audiences, and who understands how to build meaningful relationships that create real impact. You will personally manage a portfolio of senior relationships—alumni, business leaders, and community influencers—and drive a strong culture of giving and engagement throughout the University.
This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of a socially-driven university, at a time when community and philanthropy have never been more important.
