Job Summary
Robert Gordon University (RGU) offers staff and students alike a distinctive, professionally-focused academic environment in which demand-led teaching and research helps individuals develop and prosper. With significant, often unique, strengths across a wide range of educational areas, an impressive array of national and international awards and one of the most beautiful campuses - and regions - in which to live and work in the UK, we exist to increase knowledge and transform lives.
The School of Law and Social Sciences hosts an undergraduate honours degree in Applied Social Sciences and postgraduate MSc Applied Psychology along with several social work courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Psychology to join our team. Educated to doctorate level, you will have teaching experience within an HE environment.
You will carry out designated teaching and assessment on the undergraduate BA (Hons) Applied Social Sciences (including a BPS accredited Applied Psychology exit route) and BPS accredited MSc Applied Psychology conversion courses in areas of expertise. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of lecturing and/or working in any of the following areas – introductory psychology, counselling, personality and individual differences, social psychology, organisational psychology, cyber psychology and forensic psychology.
What we can offer you:
A full-time, permanent position.
In keeping with RGU's commitment to work/life balance you will have the opportunity to work from home for a portion of the working week, but you must be in a position to deliver teaching on campus to meet the requirements of the course. You also will benefit from a generous pension scheme, 46 days annual leave, onsite nursery, sports centre as well as a range of voluntary health and travel benefits.
We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our staff and to the sustainability of our environment.
