About the Role

We currently have an opening for one Teaching Fellow in Bioinformatics who will teach, advise and facilitate our education delivery to several popular MSc programmes in Bioinformatics, AI in the Biosciences, and Biotechnology. The new Teaching Fellow will join an established teaching team and receive outstanding technical support in their role.

The Teaching Fellow will have technical knowledge on programming and data science and familiarity with applications in biology (e.g. bioinformatics), ideally in genomics. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning through:

  • Teaching and the evaluation and assessment of student achievement and development
  • Designing and supervising MSc computer-based research projects
  • Managing the surrounding student support through e.g., feedback
  • Contributing to the evaluation and assessment of modules
  • Providing pastoral support to students
  • Contribution to computer-based teaching
  • Leading on relevant administrative tasks relevant to the module or programme

About You

Candidates will ideally have a PhD degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or Biomedical Engineering or related field. We will accept applications from candidates with a relevant MSc degree and appropriate professional qualification and/or experience.
