Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (fixed-term) in Biochemistry, School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, at the University of Galway. This post is offered on a full-time basis for a period of 1 year.
The Discipline of Biochemistry is a key component of the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, which also includes the disciplines of Chemistry, Microbiology and Plant & Agri-Biosciences.
The Discipline has a long-established international reputation for excellence in both teaching and research. The Discipline contributes to BSc degree programmes in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences and Genetics & Genomics in the College of Science and Engineering, and to pre-clinical Medical and MPharm programmes in the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. The Discipline also has close links with the principal research centres of the University and carries out a wide range of specific and interdisciplinary research.

Candidates for this post should have a PhD and demonstrable experience in Biochemistry, Molecular or Cell Biology. Candidates are expected to demonstrate how their teaching interests align with the existing degree programme in the Discipline of Biochemistry. Applications are particularly welcome from applicants with experience in undergraduate and practical laboratory teaching activities.
