The Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR) is looking to appoint a Finance Officer to join the DPIR Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading department recognised internationally for its rigorous and valuable research and be a part of a thriving wider Professional Services Staff team dedicated to providing an excellent service.
The successful candidate will report to the Department’s Finance Manager, and to the Deputy Finance Manager on some tasks. You will be expected to work with some autonomy, prioritising and managing their own workload as necessary.
In addition, you will be responsible for the processing of financial transactions including purchases, expense claims, payroll claims and sales invoices, also financial monitoring and reporting in specific areas including research allowances made available to academics; various project and award budget; and financial compliance.
It is essential that you are educate to at least GCSE level or equivalent, numerate, with good attention to detail and have previous financial experience. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
The position is permanent and full-time.
