Planning and Data Analyst 

The Planning and Performance Department is advertising a great opportunity to build on your data analysis skills and to contribute to the development of a growing range of innovative Business Intelligence solutions to enhance informed planning and decision making at the University. 

The Department provides information, insight and analysis to support evidenced-based decision making on institutional-wide strategy and planning.  You will work across the University providing planning and analytical support to senior members of the department. Working on a variety of regular and ad-hoc data analysis tasks, ranging from market and performance data, student and staff data, to workload planning, you will be highly numerate, comfortable dealing with large datasets and able to communicate complex concepts to a varied audience. To succeed in this role, you will have:  

  • Highly developed analytical skills, with experience of applying quantitative techniques to complex data sets presenting the insights with confidence to a range of audiences.   
  • Experience in building constructive working relationships and engaging with a wide range of colleagues; with strong communication skills, including the ability to explain intricate and detailed information in non-technical language to drive action and decision-making. 
  • Experience in system administration, writing guidance and policy materials, and providing advice and training. 
  • Excellent IT skills and experience of using the full Microsoft Office package, including advanced use of Excel. 
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
