This is a 1 FTE role and will be based from our Francis Close Hall campus. As we are a mulit campus university there maybe a requirement to travel between our other campuses.

You will have access to office space, IT equipment, library systems, online learning platforms and student records.

About the role

We would like to recruit a new colleague to join our successful Initial Teacher Education team to increase our partnership, teaching and research capacity. The successful candidate will be an experienced educator, up-to-date on current policy, curricula and effective pedagogical practice. They will have deep knowledge of the requirements for teacher training, with a particular focus on the Secondary age phase, and will be invested in supporting the development of future teachers and the education professionals who work with them.

Main duties will include managing the development of the Secondary partnership, including the placement and school-based experiences of trainees; working closely with school-based colleagues and academic staff to ensure coherent and effective training experiences; managing QA requirements and taking an active role in monitoring compliance and inspection readiness; supporting trainees and the professionals working with them to achieve the best possible outcomes; overseeing the ongoing training and development of colleagues; supporting and expanding professional networks to enhance recruitment and retention potential; liaising with course teams to enable ongoing course development and opportunities to celebrate research-informed practice.

The individual appointed will be a vitally important member of the team as their role will have an influence on the training of all new teachers.
