About us

The Slade School of Fine Art is an art school where staff and students approach contemporary art practice, and the history and theories that inform it through experimentation, imagination and research-oriented practice.

The Slade is a department of University College London (UCL) with a lively and dynamic practice led research culture. Staff are practising artists, writers and theorists with significant research outputs and exhibition profiles, actively involved in research and teaching.

About the role

We are recruiting for a teaching position for a practicing artist working broadly in the field of painting.

The post holder will be based in the Graduate Painting Area predominantly, while also working with students from across all programmes and subject areas. The role requires the successful candidate to work on site in the Slade studios.

Some teaching responsibilities will include tutorial responsibility for a group of students; studio and workshop teaching in one-to-one and group situations with students from all three studio subject areas, and participation in the lively programme of tutorials, seminars and group crits.

The role is fixed term for 10 months to provide cover for maternity leave.

Working Pattern:

This is a 0.4 FTE role which equates to 2 days per week. Thursdays and Fridays will be the expected days of teaching.

Right to Work Eligibility

Please note, we will not be able to consider any candidates who require sponsorship, so all those applying must already have unrestricted right to work in the UK. Any applicants without right to work cannot be considered in the recruitment for this role.

About you
