RSVP Relationship & Project Coordinator
The Next Generation Research SuperVision Project (RSVP) is a groundbreaking, research culture change project looking to transform research supervision practice and culture. Funded by Research England and supported by the UK's top research councils we believe this is the largest ever funded project into doctoral supervision. Led by Dr. Karen Clegg at the University of York and Professor Doug Cleaver, Sheffield Hallam University, the core consortia also includes the University of Nottingham, King's College London, Coventry University, and the UK Council for Graduate Education.
RSVP project partners include over 50 Universities and industry giants such as Unilever, GSK, and the BBC who are helping us to shape the future of research supervision. Working with these key stakeholders we are now entering a critical implementation and co-creation stage of the project and require additional capacity to help to facilitate, share and harness good practice in research supervision.
Department
This new role will form part of the core RSVP team based at the University of York in the School for Arts and Creative Industries (ACT) on Campus East. You will also work with colleagues in the York Graduate Research School and across all project partners.
The University of York offers flexible working patterns and a number of family friendly initiatives. As a School we are proud to foster a supportive culture that helps staff and students contribute fully, flourish and excel, to reach their full potential. We embrace equality, diversity and inclusion in all our School activities.
Role
As the Relationship and Project Coordinator, you'll operate at the interface between our central design team and practitioner partners. Your primary goal will be to facilitate shared learning and reflection on the opportunities and challenges of implementing widespread professional development for research supervisors within diverse institutional contexts. You'll bring together supervisor developers, pedagogic experts, and key stakeholders, enabling them to share practices and learn from one another.
Your work will be pivotal in supporting the effective implementation and evaluation of professional development interventions, workshops, communities of practice, and supervision observations at universities across the UK and beyond. You will also be involved with the organisation of events and dissemination of project outcomes.
