The Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health at UCL is part of the Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care and is co-led by Professor Greta Rait and Professor Kate Walters.
Our mission is to:

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic post-doctoral researcher with a background in social science and an interest in long-term conditions, health inequalities, intervention development, and co-design research.
The post will be working on the project ‘A self-management toolkit for people with multiple long-term conditions experiencing socioeconomic deprivation: co-design and feasibility testing’ at Research Department of Primary Care and Population Health.
The Department’s strategic aim is to deliver high-quality teaching in community-based primary care and public health and to undertake a programme of internationally competitive multi-disciplinary research addressing the management and prevention of disease in individuals and populations in areas which are of priority to the health of the public.
Application Details:
- This is a fixed-term contract with external funding until 30th November 2026 in the first instance.
- Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent on award and confirmation of a PhD (or equivalent). If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B, point 25 (salary £ 38,607 per annum inclusive of London allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.

About you:
This position is suited to an organised and self-motivated individual with a passion to reduce inequalities.
The post holder will hold a PhD and have experience in co-design, running workshops, and experience in feasibility studies.
The post-holder will line manage research assistants and peer researchers and oversee several research work-packages. The candidate may need to travel for field work.
