PhD on sustainable micro-robots at Strathclyde within the Marie Skodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network Greens. Includes training, EU collaboration, and secondments. Embedding the 5Rs- Reduce, Recycle, Refuse, Rot, and Reuse- in robot life cycles. Work involves colloidal synthesis, characterisation, data analysis, and creative problem-solving.

Join the University of Strathclyde as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Early Stage Reseacher. to the post holder will  undertake a specific research project under the general guidance of the PhD supervisor at the University of Strathclyde as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network Greens, and to complete a PhD thesis based on this research. To attend training activities provided by the University and the project Network. To attend project meetings and collaborate with other researchers in the Network. To complete secondments with academic and industrial collaborators. To disseminate research results at relevant conferences and through quality journal papers.

For Our goal is to embed the 5Rs — Reduce, Recycle, Refuse, Rot, and Reuse — not just in the main targets and applications of these tiny devices, but in their entire life cycle. GREENS is committed to integrating sustainability principles into the design/ fabrication processes and applications of small-scale robots, ensuring that they are environmentally friendly from their initial building blocks (raw materials), through their processing and final disposal. Jointly with other European partners we will develop novel active matter and improve existing ones. We will incorporate capacities to react to complex environments and perform small tasks.

This thesis will require colloidal synthesis and characterisation, as well as data analysis, designing setups and creative problem solving.
