About Us

Transforming lives through excellent education.

London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.

Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.

About the Post

Are you passionate about shaping the future of the real estate profession through innovative, socially responsible education?

This is your opportunity to play a leading role in the continued development and delivery of our Real Estate programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the School of the Built Environment at London Met. These programmes respond to strong demand from employers for graduates with the skills to address evolving challenges in valuation, property development, asset and facilities management, and sustainability in real estate practice.

At London Met, our mission is to transform lives through education and to be a driver of social mobility and social justice. We do this by offering inclusive, high-quality learning experiences that prepare our students for professional careers in the rapidly evolving real estate and built environment sectors.

We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking academic and/or practitioner with substantial industry or academic experience in real estate, property management, or valuation who is looking to take the next step in their career. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in a relevant discipline or demonstrate equivalent professional expertise, and be professionally qualified, ideally with RICS status or equivalent recognition from a relevant professional body.

This Senior Lecturer post is situated within the Surveying and Real Estate subject area and will be based at our Holloway Road campus.

You will contribute to curriculum leadership, academic development, and teaching across our BSc (Hons) Real Estate and MSc Real Estate programmes. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in at least four of the following areas, with a specialism in digital technologies considered highly desirable:

  • Real Estate Valuation
  • Real Estate Asset Management
  • Commercial Real Estate Practice
  • Planning and Development
  • Real Estate Law
  • Sustainability, ESG and climate risk in real estate
  • Digital technologies in property and real estate

You will be expected to apply your professional knowledge and pedagogic expertise to develop inclusive, engaging, and practice-relevant teaching and assessment strategies. You will also provide academic and pastoral support to students, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, and contribute to research and enterprise activity aligned with your expertise.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and socially engaged School that is committed to academic excellence, digital innovation, and impactful research and knowledge exchange with industry and professional bodies.

Interviews due to be held in week commencing 7 or 14 July 2025.
