Introduction
Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role within a supportive environment where you can demonstrate your outstanding people and organisational skills.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an administrator in the Southampton Law School for 12 months to cover maternity leave within the team, and you could be just the person we need for this great opportunity.
About us
The Faculty Operating Service (FOS) works with Faculty, Deanery and School Senior Leadership Teams to support education, research, and enterprise activities. Our students and staff come from a wide range of backgrounds, within the UK and internationally, creating a multicultural and diverse community. You will join a supportive and friendly FOS team who are motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive team players who operate as ‘one-team’ to provide a flexible and responsive service to our academic community.
About the role
As a member of a busy and engaged school administrative team you will provide professional operational assistance and administrative support to our academic community. Responsibilities include diary management, travel arrangements, minute taking, financial administration, supporting recruitment, and organising group meetings, facilities, and resources. Other activities may include maintaining school newsletters, updating web pages, maintaining digital signage and social media.
This role is hybrid. Successful candidates will be able to work flexibly and remotely and will be expected to spend at least 60% of their contracted hours working on campus. Flexibility will be required should the business need require a greater on-site presence.
About you
You are a motivated professional whose career so far might include some administrative work experience which allows you to use your own initiative, as well as manage your own time effectively with minimal supervision, or be looking for an opportunity to take the first step in your career post-study. You will be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a strong team player who is culturally sensitive. You will have strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach. You will be able to build strong relationships with internal and external organisations and groups and be able to liaise confidently with your stakeholders. You will have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. You will have strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office and similar software.
